COMPANY BACKGROUND 

 

JCC, Ltd was established in 1999 in Spokane, Washington USA for the purpose of management, construction and maintenance consulting for golf and sports facilities.  James Connolly earned his degree in Agronomy from Washington State University with continued studies in Environmental Science from the University of Connecticut.  He is a Certified Professional Agronomist and has 30 years experience in the turfgrass management field.  He was a former agronomist for the United States Golf Association Green Section where he made over 600 golf course consulting visits. 

 
JCC, Ltd has consulted projects in 8 countries under a wide range of conditions.  He is experienced with cool and warm season grasses in applying the best possible solutions under a wide range of operating conditions.  Mr. Connolly has excellent communication skills and is a frequent conference speaker at golf course seminars.  He has published over 20 articles on golf course maintenance in a various golf industry publications.

PROJECT HISTORY


Mr. Connolly has been contracted to advise and consult on several prestigious golf courses for international golf tournaments.  He was acting superintendent at the Club at Nine Bridges in Jeju South Korea for the 2004, 2003 CJ LPGA Classic and consulted on the construction of Victoria Golf Club in Algarve, Portugal for the 2005 World Cup.  

The combination of hands-on experience, education and world travel has given Mr. Connolly a unique opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience to build a successful consulting business.

JCC, Ltd has prepared numerous reports that outline the most current and practical methods of natural resource conservation and protection using the most current industry and university recommendations and best management practices (BMP).  JCC, Ltd BMP reports are specifically designed to provide a source of information that is used to communicate the solutions to issues involving the construction and maintenance of a golf course as it relates to the protection of our Nation’s environment.  These reports are an excellent tool for describing the effects of various methods of constructing and managing a golf course to have a minimal negative effect on the environment.

SELECTED PROJECTS

The Club at Nine Bridges
, Jeju South Korea – JCC, Ltd was contracted in July 2001 by Cheiljedang Chairman Jay Lee to prepare the golf course for the 2002 CJ Sports Today Classic. JCC continues to consult The Club at Nine Bridges, site of the CJ LPGA Classic.  The golf course has won international acclaim and hosts the World Amateur Golf Championship televised on the Golf Channel.

Victoria Golf Club, Villamoura Portugal – The Arnold Palmer designed course opened in the summer of 2004 and will host the World Cup in 2005.  JCC completed a 3-year contract to consult in the area of agronomy and turfgrass management during the construction and establishment phase.

Kukui’ Ula Golf Club, Kauai, Hawaii –Our second project for the Phoenix Arizona Developer, DMB Associates.  JCC is preparing the environmental management plan that must be approved before construction will start.  After construction begins, JCC will consult on all agronomic issues.  The Tom Wieskopf designed course will feature 18 holes, 75 luxury villas and a five-star hotel.

Pronghorn Golf Club, Bend Oregon USA– The Jack Nicklaus and Tom Fazio designed golf courses are located in an environmentally sensitive area with strict water quality guidelines.  JCC prepared the environmental nutrient and pesticide management plan needed for permitting the construction work. Pronghorn was awarded the highest environmental award by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America in 2005.

Circling Raven Golf Club, Idaho USA – Rated “The Top Ten You Can Play” by Golf Magazine and “#7 Best New Upscale in America” by Golf Digest, JCC, Ltd consulted on the development, construction and agronomics.  A total of 700,000 cubic meters of dirt was moved to create a first class destination resort in beautiful Idaho.  The project was designed by Gene Bates and constructed by Gary Bates who worked with Nicklaus Design for 12 years.
